PBA Finals: Barroca game-winner sends Magnolia to 3-2 lead

Mark Barroca drained a buzzer-beater to lift Magnolia to an 88-86 win over San Miguel to take a 3-2 lead in the PBA Philippine Cup finals last May 10 at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.

Barroca’s basket moved the Hotshots Pambansang Manok closer to dethroning the four-time Philippine Cup champion Beermen. Magnolia can close out the series with a win in Game 6 on May 12 at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.

Barroca’s heroics capped off his impressive Game 5 where he finished with 22 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists. Barroca also shot 9 of 21 from the field.

Magnolia survived after San Miguel was able to tie the game with Terrence Romeo drilling a triple, but the Hotshots claimed the victory on Barroca’s buzzer-beater.

Ian Sangalang had 18 points, while Paul Lee had 12 points for Magnolia.
