In just a week, a lot of things happened. Not only have we seen tons of basketball action from different tournaments, but we have also witnessed movements in the Pinoyliga Power Rankings.

While the top squads remain stable, the teams under them saw some movements, proving that this year will be an unpredictable one for collegiate basketball.

Remaining at the top of the list is the San Beda Red Lions, as they have shown consistency and no signs of slowing down under the system of Coach Yuri Escueta. Behind them, the La Salle Green Archers and the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons, who have also stepped on the pedal in their recent games.

A minor change happened in the 4th spot as the National University Bulldogs overtook the University of Santo Tomas Growling Tigers after going unbeaten the past week in their games in NSAC and UBelt Cup.

A big factor for UST's drop is the Collins Akowe minor injury, which resulted in the Tigers' 2 wins, 2 losses slate the past week.

The Letran Knights go to #6 while the Jose Rizal Heavy Bombers move up to #7 after finishing unbeaten in 4 matches this week, including a nail-biting 79-77 win over UST behind a rare 4-point play from Jalen Garcia with 8 seconds remaining in the game.

JRU's ascent means that the Benilde Blazers dropped a notch after losing 2 of its 3 games last week.

Also having a great week is the Centro Escolar University Scorpions, as it finds itself in the 13th spot after dethroning Olivarez Sea Lions in the UCAL championship series.

The Guang Ming Flying Dragons saw themselves move up after their recent success in the Pinoyliga Next Man Cup, but the next challenge for them is whether they can sustain that momentum, especially with the departure of their two key players, Kurt Lactaotao and Joshua Jamias.

The St. Clare Saints, meanwhile, fell one step down after going winless this week.

Our Lady of Fatima Phoenix had a good week after winning 2 matches in the UBelt Invitational Cup, including a 5-point victory over FEU Tamaraws.

Lyceum Batangas Pirates, led by Alpha Bah, surged in the rankings after winning the NCAA South Season 27 Basketball crown over the San Pablo Ravens in two games.

The second installment of the Power Rankings this year has painted a picture of how fast a team can rise and fall based on performances, most notably in the middle and lower portions of the rankings.

Consistency will be the key for all of the teams, as the ones who will perform well and be active will continue to move, while the ones who fall behind will go back to the drawing boards to see what else they could do to strengthen their team in the succeeding games.
