For Coach Randy Alcantara, the month of July has been good not just for him, but also for San Juan, as they cap off their road-trip with a titanic clash with Bataan tonight in Albay.
Winning their first four games in the ongoing MPBL Lakan Season was music to the ears of the former Knight himself, as he credit the total team effort.
"Siyempre, masaya yung buong team na nakuha namin yung fourth straight this July," he said last Thursday after the Knights tallied an impressive 16-point win over Paranaque in Caloocan.
Furthermore, he is all praises to his Captain Hook in Mark Cardona, in which he finally got to lead the team in scoring, yet despite of that, a lot of things has to be made if they stand a chance against the loaded Risers.
"Kung sa scoring naman ang pinaguusapan, talaga naman kaya ni Macmac yan. So siguro na lang, kelangan na kundisyon siya at maging leader siya sa team."
Right after the game, the Knights watched their next opponents beat Muntinlupa to a pulp, but Alcantara is not taking Jong Uichico's side lightly as Bataan are one of those tagged as preseason favorites for the title.
"Siguro hanggang third stringer pwede nila gamitin," he then said, recognizing that the Risers were not just leaning only on Alvin Pasaol.
On a personal note, he had a great week as well apart from their six-game winning start, but also towing the reserve sides to the CBA Pilipinas National Title last Tuesday at their own floor in the old San Juan Gym.
"Siyempre, para sa mga kababayan namin yan at sa mga bosses namin," he concluded.
