The PLDT Home Fibr Hitters are on a recruitment craze.
After acquiring a quartet led by Eli Soyud, they followed that up by getting the services of Isa Molde and Marist Layug.
Then, the Roger Gorayeb-coached Hitters are set to acquire yet another veteran in Philippine women's volleyball.
A four-time champion in the Philippine SuperLiga (PSL), Rhea Dimaculangan gives the Hitters another veteran setter who can help them regain their winning ways as they set to make their return to the Premier Volleyball League (PVL). This move also reunites Dimaculangan with Gorayeb who coached the former in the national team in 2013 and 2015, and the two were also together in the Sandugo-San Sebastian team that won the 2012 V-League Open Conference.
“I know how Rhea plays. She was my setter with the national team and we also won a championship together with Sandugo,” Gorayeb said.
Dimaculangan is a three-time PSL Best Setter and the 2018 PSL All-Filipino Most Valuable Player. In 2020, she parted ways with the Petron Blaze Spikers and joined the Generika-Ayala Lifesavers. Dimaculangan won three of her four PSL titles with Petron.
