The PBA has fined Ronald Tubid and Kelly Nabong P75,000 each and suspended for three games for their role in the Spiderman incident in Game 5 of the PBA Philippine Cup finals between San Miguel and Magnolia.
The sanctions were given by PBA commissioner Willie Marcial after he summoned the two players as well as other persons involved in the incident.
San Miguel assistant team manager Daniel Henares and team doctor Ramon Ibanez were also slapped with penalties – a P50,000 fine and a two-game suspension.
The penalties were an offshoot of the incident in Game 5 where a man wearing a Spiderman costume came running down the court, and colliding into San Miguel superstar June Mar Fajardo in the process.
Tubid was penalized after punching the man while he was being escorted out by security, while Nabong was sanctioned for also punching a man that was wrongfully pointed as an accomplice of the man who wore the Spiderman costume.
