Four Conferences, One Goal: Pinoyliga Collegiate Cup Season 5 Conference Finals Preview

The elimination round-robin of the Pinoyliga Collegiate Cup Season 5 is officially in the books.

Twenty collegiate teams entered with championship aspirations. After weeks of intense round-robin action across four conferences. Only the strongest remain. Every game has shaped the standings, every upset shifted the bracket, and now the race toward the national championship enters its most critical stage.

As the conference finals tip off, four teams stand atop their respective brackets. Each earned the top seed in a different way. From dominance, resilience, consistency, or balance. Now they all face the same challenge: proving that their elimination-round success can carry over when every possession matters.

NORTHERN CONFERENCE: Saint Clare Saints (3-2)

Eight NAASCU championships speak for themselves.

St. Clare enters the conference finals as the Northern Conference’s top seed, and they have shown exactly why that reputation holds. Rather than relying on one superstar, the Saints thrive through balanced scoring, shared rebounds, and team-first basketball that makes them difficult to plan against. Especially shown against their crushing win over the MCU Supremos, 84-49.

But they are not without struggles. Losses to the OLFU Phoenix (46-58) and Benilde Blazers (77-84) show moments when opponents disrupted their rhythm and capitalized on mistakes. With the competition only getting tougher, consistency will be key if Saint Claire hopes to add another championship to its decorated history.

SOUTHERN CONFERENCE: UPHSD Altas (4-1)

The UPHSD Altas enter the conference finals as the Southern Conference’s top seed after having navigated through a competitive field.

Playing out of the NCAA, the Altas went 4-1 through the elimination round. The only blemish on their otherwise perfect run is a narrow 63-68 loss to Guang Ming, where Prosper Onyebuchi put on a dominant performance with 27 points, 18 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 clocks, and a steal.

What followed may have revealed even more about this UPHSD squad.

Rather than allowing defeat to linger, the Altas responded with a convincing win over NEU, quickly regaining both their momentum and confidence. While many of their victories came by slim margins, UPHSD repeatedly found ways to execute under pressure, a trait that separates contenders from champions once tournaments begin.

EASTERN CONFERENCE: SPC Ravens (5-0)

If there is one team that has sent the clearest message in season 5, it is the SPC Ravens.

Representing Laguna and competing out of NCAA South, the Ravens were the only team across all four conferences to complete the elimination round undefeated - finishing with a flawless 5-0 record.

Their success has been built on consistency at both ends of the floor. Lance Lorence Miranda and Samuel Alphonsus have been reliable contributors throughout all five games, giving SPC a dependable foundation that opposing teams have struggled to counter. Whether controlling the paint or delivering timely baskets, they have helped establish the Ravens as one of the most complete teams entering the conference finals.

Undefeated records often come with added pressure, but they also command respect.

WESTERN CONFERENCE: EAC Generals (4-1)

The EAC Generals reach the conference finals as the Western Conference’s top seed.

Their lone loss came against the JRU Heavy Bomber. Their most recent qualification came in a nail-biting one-point victory over the Benilde Blazers, the kind of result that can either shake a team's confidence or steel it.

Close games have become a defining characteristic of the NCAA team. The Generals have shown they can dictate the pace when in control, but perhaps more importantly, they have proven capable of staying composed when games come down to the final possessions.

With postseason basketball often decided by a handful of plays, that experience could become one of EAC’s greatest strengths.

The elimination round has determined the standing. With five teams in each conference, and only four spots remaining, one team per bracket will see its Season 5 journey end early. The top seeds have earned their position - but in a tournament that has already delivered overtime thrillers and last-second heroics, nothing is guaranteed.

The competition is here. The stakes are higher. Now, the road to the Pinoyliga Collegiate Cup Season 5 championship truly begins.
