Columbian pulled off a big upset last Sunday after defeating last conference’s champion San Miguel in overtime, 134-132, in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
Lester Prosper had a dominating game after contributing 40 points and 13 rebounds, but he was not alone in towing the Dyip to the huge victory. CJ Perez had 34 points, and Rashawn McCarthy had a double-double after tallying 27 points and 14 assists for the Dyip, who now have a 2-6 win-loss record.
San Miguel fell to 2-5 as the struggles continued for the Philippine Cup champions.
Columbian sealed the win with a jumper by Glenn Khobuntin for a four-point lead, 132-128. Perez also converted a lay-up over two San Miguel defenders for a 134-130 advantage.
