UP Fighting Maroons dominated the Mapua Cardinals in Pinoyliga Cup

UP continues their domination in the Pinoyliga Cup Collegiate Division as they hand a lopsided loss to Mapua, 86-62.


The Fighting Maroons out-rebounded the Cardinals 40-29 and also dished out more assists as they ended up with 22 compared to Mapua's 10.

UP opened the game with a 5-0 run and even erected a 12-point lead 4 minutes into the match. The closest the MAPUA can get is only by 8 when the game is scored at 30-22.

Terrence Fortea makes a 3 with 36 secs left in the second quarter to raise the Maroons' lead to 21. At the 6:59 mark of the third quarter, once again Fortea raises the lead, now up to 31 with another three.


Terrence John Fortea gained the best player of the game honors scoring 20 points in 22 minutes. Recaredo Calimag scored 15 in 60% shooting, while Cyril Rey Gonzales and Alain Jethro Madrigal scored 11 and 10 respectively.


Two players from Mapua Cardinals scored in double digits. Clint Escamis scored game-high 22 points with 4 assists and Ivan Cudiamat with 15 points.
