Everyone has their own physical limitations. Even the best athletes in the world succumb to fatigue and sometimes, injuries.
Tab Baldwin, a 61-year old mentor, is no exception to that.
Baldwin may have been one of the greatest college basketball coaches we've ever seen in our time as he masterminded the recent rise to dominance of the Ateneo Blue Eagles with the Blue Eagles winning the last 3 UAAP championships including the last one which they won via a 16-0 season sweep. However, no matter how brilliant Baldwin is as a coach, he is still human and he can get tired too.
Not to mention the fact that he's juggling three separate duties especially in the last 3 months.
According to sources, Tab Baldwin was handling the Blue Eagles' last night at the Moro Lorenzo Gym inside the Ateneo campus when the 3-time UAAP champion coach felt dizzy. Team officials then decided to call an ambulance and have their mentor rushed to the hospital.
Epok Quimpo, the team manager of the Blue Eagles and also a former Blue Eagle himself, said that Tab Baldwin wasn't feeling well and that it was obvious that Baldwin was also under a lot of stress.
And you can't take away anything from Tab Baldwin and his undying hard work and commitment.
Aside from being the man on top of things in Ateneo, Baldwin is also the program director of Gilas Pilipinas and in case you haven't noticed it yet, Coach Tab is also an assistant coach of the TNT KaTropa in the PBA. He also never misses any practice. Talk about commitment.
As of now, Epok Quimpo said that the multi-titled mentored is now in stable condition and is recovering. Quimpo also assured that Tab Baldwin's health is the team's primary concern and that the team is wishing him a speedy recovery.
Get well soon, Coach Tab
