All remaining sporting events of UAAP Season 82 has been officially cancelled in light of the extension of the enhanced community quarantine in Luzon until April 30.

In a memorandum signed by UAAP president Emmanuel Fernandez and executive director Atty. Rebo Saguisag, the said conditions for the resumption of UAAP Season 82 on May 1 can no longer be met after the Board decided to call off the tournaments.

“The Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) having been extended, the conditions for the resumption of UAAP Season 82 can no longer be met. As such it is now deemed cancelled,” UAAP said in a statement on Tuesday.

“All other issues related thereto will be resolved at the proper time as we continue to focus our time, energy and resources in battling this crisis.” it added.

It can be recalled that UAAP cancelled its high school tournaments last March 14 and suspended its collegiate games after the government declared public health emergency.

“Nevertheless, we would like to take this opportunity to thank you, our fans, partners, student-athletes, coaches, and all other members of the UAAP community,” UAAP said.
