The grit and grind continue for Gilas Pilipinas on Wednesday night as they resume practice immediately after arriving in the country from a training camp in Spain.

Gilas touched down in Manila on Tuesday night, but there will be no rest for the national squad as they continue training for the FIBA Basketball World Cup in China.

The Gilas Pilipinas Men squad was coming off a training camp in Spain that saw them beat Congo and Ivory Coast in tune-up games in Guadalajara, Spain.

The Philippine team also competed in a pocket tournament were they had a 1-1 record winning over Ivory Coast and bowing to Congo in the series.

The Gilas team, however, was unable to compete against Spain that has NBA players led by Toronto Raptors center Marc Gasol.

Andray Blatche as expected set the tone for Gilas Pilipinas Men in the matches during the pocket tournament, but making big strides during the Spain training camp was PBA rookies CJ Perez and Robert Bolick, who put on good numbers in all of the four matches Gilas played in Spain.

Gilas coach Yeng Guiao will definitely be giving the national team more training with the FIBA Basketball World Cup only weeks away. Gilas is still scheduled to play the Adelaide 36ers in tune-up matches before going to China, giving the national team more exposure to the high-quality play that they will be up against during the World Cup.
