As sports came to a halt due to the coronavirus pandemic, some of the athletic companies took their initiatives in helping to medical community to fight against COVID-19.
The more the virus is spreading, more hospitals continue to search for personal protective equipment (PPE) to keep themselves protected.
Antbox Apparel, one of the top manufacturer of athletic wear in the Philippines, has been one of the companies on the forefront of this initiative.
Antbox used to produce official jerseys for PBA and some crossfit gyms in the country. But because of the pandemic, they are retooling their efforts to instead make some of the most in-demand items in the hospital such as PPEs for doctors, nurses, and healthcare personnel on the frontline battling the virus.
Anthony Joson Dulce, CEO of Antbox apparel led a non-profit project for the medical frontliners in the country.
As a nursing graduate, Dulce said it is high time to support the frontline workers in the fight against the virus who are in dire need of critical supplies.
“Sabi ko para bumilis matapos to simulan ko tumulong sa bansa natin. I was a nursing graduate, nakapagduty ako sa government hospital, I know kung anong klaseng PPEs gamit nila sa hospital, he said.
As of April 3, Antbox apparel together with their partner organizations have distributed 3,000 sets of PPE to different public and private hospitals in the country.
“Mabilis matatapos if we help them, we can go back on our lifestyle noon. We are happy to see our frontliners happy and protected. I would also like to thank our donors for their help on making this non-profit project possible,” Dulce said.
Dulce said they hope to have more frontliners to reach and help, cash donations can be sent to Antbox BDO account 006460160391 and can be remitted to their BPI account 4619187569.
