Showcasing their experience on the floor, Tier One-Born Ready had more stability on offense and dismantled the JRU-Tuesdays in the Kings of the Court | STR8 Inter Pick-up Division, 80-55, second game of the triple header at The Upperdeck West gym in Ortigas.
Currently, Tier-One Born Ready are on the top spot of the standing with 2-0 record, proving that they’re the team to beat this season, while JRU dropped for 1-1.
Gian Racelis shines a double-double performance with 18 points, ten boards, and a couple of steals, then eventually bagged the Player of the game honors.
He led his squad to away a 21-5 third quarter onslaught, and posted a 23 point deficit entering to the final frame, 52-29.
The moment William Paz Buzzer beats the buzzer in the third, everyone knows who wins this game.
Jon Nery added 16 points and five rebounds, while Paz had 11 and five and James Alba chipped in four points, but facilitating their offense very well with nine assist and clogging the passing lane with four steals
Born Ready’s quick ball movement in the halfcourt set made their opponent guessing who to guard as they accumulated 24 assist as a team.
They continued their dominance in the fourth period and kept on pounding the paint against JRU’s thin front court, they reached their biggest margin at 27, 80-53, and never looked back at that point.
On the other hand, Peter Enanod kept JRU from the game for two quarters by firing up 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds, but wasn’t enough as he was the only player who scored in double figures.
PJ Guillermo had eight, while Adriane Cala put up seven points and ten rebounds, and Rolando Tuano also had seven markers.
JRU still put up a fight and exchanged baskets against the other protagonist, however Born ready spurted a 9-0 run to end the opening quarter and grabbed a five point lead going to the second quarter, 13-8.
Holding on that lead, JRU had some moments to took over the game, but Born Ready’s defense kept them at bay and ended the canto with a seven point lead, 31-24.
