Team to beat?

Last night, I got a little taste of how it’s like to moderate a sports program. If you’ve done your homework and you’ve done your research then it should be easy.

Let’s get right to it, is the United City Football Club or UCFC the team to beat this coming PFL (Philippines Football League) bubble tournament over at the PFF (Philippine Football Federation) Training Center starting on October 24?

On paper, they are but you still have to prove it on the pitch, 11 on 11. They’re the defending champions and they’re aware of the big bullseye on their back. They’ll get the best effort from all the five teams they’ll be playing against.

According to Azkals Captain, UCFC Assistant Manager and midfielder Stephan Schrock, it was more challenging to prepare mentally than physically. The tournament will be short, only 10 match days spread out over three months so the margin of error per match won’t be much. Every set piece and possession will count.

Eric Gottschalk, Co-Team Owner of UCFC has a lot in store as far as UCFC’s contribution to the promotion and development of Philippine Football particularly club football or domestic football.

For our national team to thrive and flourish, it is crucial that the domestic league is viable, sustainable and successful.
