SBP pleased with Gilas Pilipinas Women's performance in the FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup 2019

The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas is happy with the performance of the Gilas Pilipinas Women in the FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup 2019 in Changsha, China.

SBP president Al Panlilio released a statement stating how the federation’s satisfaction towards the campaign that saw the team of Jack Animam, Afril Bernardino, Janine Pontejos, and Clare Castro reaching the quarterfinals.

The Philippines lost to Australia in the quarterfinals but not without a gallant stand from the team.

“The SBP is pleased with the quarterfinals finish of our Gilas Pilipinas Women’s 3x3 team in the 2019 FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup in Changsha, China.

“The way they competed all throughout the tournament was a tribute to the indomitable fighting spirit of Filipinos.

“With the support of our sponsors, Smart Communications, San Miguel Corporation, and Ever Bilena, we are determined to improve in the women’s division and one day become a superpower in our region,” said Panlilio.
