SBP APPOINTS SANDY ARESPACOCHAGA AS BATANG GILAS HEAD COACH

Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas - SBP President Al S. Panlilio appoints Coach Sandy Arespacochaga as the new Batang Gilas coach. With this appointment, the Batang Gilas is assured of mentor that will guide the team in the upcoming 2019 FIBA World Cup under-19 Tournament and FIBA Asia under-16 Championship. 

Arespacochaga is currently a part of the coaching staff of the Ateneo college team under Coach Tab Baldwin that completed back-to-back titles in the UAAP and is one of the assistant coaches of the TNT KaTropa in PBA with coach Bong Ravena. 

"Sandy's demeanor is perfect for our young players. He is a natural teacher whose method of teaching is what our young players will embrace and appreciate. He uses his strong communication skills and low key personality to get the best out of his personnel," Panlilio said.
