The San Juan Knights racked up its fifth win in a row as they crushed the embattled Bicol Volcanoes, 98-69, in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League Lakan Season on Tuesday night at the Muntinlupa Sports Complex.
San Juan did not take long to assert itself in the game against Bicol — a team that is dealing with internal troubles — as they zoomed off to a 20-7 lead after the first 10 minutes of action.
From there, the Knights just kept on coming and extended their lead to 42-21 at halftime before cruising to the easy victory and improve their record to a league-best 15-1.
Bicol on the other hand fell to 8-9.
Ex-pro John Wilson continued his torrid scoring this season as he fired in 23 points to go with his four rebounds and three assists, in a little over 21 minutes of action.
Cedric Pelayo put up 11 points while Jhonard Clarito almost had a double-double with 10 points and eight boards as well as an assist, a steal and two blocked shots in 19 minutes of playing time.
Alwyn Alday led Bicol with 14 points and eight rebounds.
