Not even the presence of one of the original legends have deterred the San Juan Knights, as they go back to winning ways after their 87-73 win over the Marikina Shoemasters Monday evening at the FilOil FlyingV Centre.

The defending national champions have bounced back from their streak-busting defeat to GenSan last week, turning the game around in the third quarter to post their fourth straight win at home and holding the top spot in the North by improving to 11-1, spoiling the homecoming of former Lord Knight Christian Calaguio who suited up for the visiting side.

John Wilson lead San Juan once again with 25 points with 5/11 from beyond the arc, with Andoy Estrella exploded for 18 for coach Randy Alcantara, who was without forward Jhonard Clarito for this outing.

Calaguio, who was the superstar in San Juan's lone MBA National Title, had a decent line of 7 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists in almost 18 minutes of playing time.

However, it was Jessie Saitanan who took the player of the game honors, scoring ten of his dozen in the penultimate frame to overturn a three-point half-time deficit into a 63-55 lead heading into the pay-off period.

Overall, San Juan shot 49% from the field, including 7/23 from downtown that compensated from their 12/21 free throw shooting, compared to just 39 % (26/66) for Marikina.

The scores:

SAN JUAN 87 -- Wilson 25, Estrella 18, Saitanan 12, Cardona 10, Rodriguez 9, Ayonayon 4, Tajonera 3, Ubalde 2, Reyes 2, Aquino 2, Isit 0, Pelayo 0

MARIKINA 73 -- Sazon 23, Tambeling 11, Gonzales 9, Rebugio 8, Calaguio 7, Salvador 6, Española 4, Pascual 3, Campos 2, Mendoza 0, Dysam 0, Tilos 0

Quarter scores: 23-26, 39-42, 63-55, 87-73
