San Beda beats their old rival San Sebastian in Pinoyliga Cup

San Beda Red Lions handed a loss to San Sebastian Golden Stags 91-80 in the 40 Up Division of Pinoyliga Cup Inter-Alumni Division.

The Red Lions quickly overpowered San Sebastian outscoring them in the first quarter 27-9. The Stags struggled beyond the arc and shot a disastrous 0 out of 10 in the 1st period.

SBU continued their flaming game despite the addition of sniper Mark Macapagal in the second quarter as they took a 17-point lead at halftime.

SSC-R tried to rally in the second half but Beda was really too much scoring 27 points again in the third. The fourth quarter was all favored to Baste but the deficit is too much to recover and the buzzer strikes with them down by 11.

Richie Melencio led the way for San Beda giving a double-double performance with 22 points and 13 rebounds. Shintaro Dela Cruz and Chris Calaguio also contributed to the game scoring 16 and 14 respectively.

Only 7 players scored for San Sebastian and 3 of them went for double digits. Mark Macapagal scored 31 points in his Pinoy Liga debut, Francis Sanz gave us a classic performance with 20 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 steals, and Christian Coronel scored 16.
