Gilas Pilipinas began practice last Monday, June 18 in preparation for the FIBA Basketball World Cup set August 30 to September 15 in China.

Gilas coach Yeng Guiao, however, said he expressed a few concerns with their preparation for the World Cup.

According to online reports, Guiao said there is a possibility Jayson Castro is not yet sure about him joining the pool for the World Cup. Castro recently got married after postponing his wedding several times due to his participation in the national team.

"Meron lang kaming isa pang concern, ‘yung situation ni Jayson Castro. So we have to finalize din ‘yung status niya. Meron din kasi siyang mga personal priorities. We will finalize that within the week if he's staying with the team or taking a break,” said Guiao as quoted by Spin.ph.

Among those who attended practice where five-time PBA MVP June Mar Fajardo, Gabe Norwood, Japeth Aguilar, Mark Barroca, Marcio Lassiter, Raymond Almazan, Roger Pogoy, and Troy Rosario.
