A 19-man pool has been named by Gilas Pilipinas coach Yeng Guiao for the FIBA Basketball World Cup, which includes NBA player Jordan Clarkson, according to several media reports.

Spin.ph reported Guiao has included Clarkson in the pool in case of a “miracle” that the Cleveland Cavaliers cager will be allowed by FIBA to play as a local.

Guiao also said in a report by Spin.ph that Clarkson’s inclusion also serves as a back-up plan in the eventuality that Andray Blatche might sustain an injury in the build-up to the FIBA Basketball World Cup.

“Nilagay na namin doon sa pool si Jordan Clarkson. We are still hoping that a miracle happens. But at the same time, it’s also a back-up plan, knock on wood, and I hope nothing happens and no harm comes to Andray but at least we have options on the naturalized players,” Guiao said as quoted by Spin.ph.

Blatche arrived to the country this weekend to join Gilas Pilipinas’ preparations for the FIBA Basketball World Cup.
