REPORT: Gilas Women to see action in Jones Cup

The Gilas Pilipinas Women will see action in the William Jones Cup for the very first time.

In a report by ABS-CBN News, the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) has sent the Gilas Pilipinas Women to the Jones Cup as preparation for two major international competitions this year, the 2019 Women’s Asia Cup and the 2019 Southeast Asian Games.

SBP president Al Panlilio expressed confidence that the Gilas Pilipinas Women will perform well in the Jones Cup as he thanked its sponsors for making the participation possible.

“We are confident that with Coach Patrick Aquino at the helm, combined with the vision of the federation and the support of the private sector, our goal of reaching the podium in any women's tournament is achievable in the near future. We want to thank San Miguel Corporation and the Ever Bilena group for supporting the growth of women’s basketball in our country,” Panlilio said.
