Philippine sports is facing the uncertainty that nobody knows when will end as the 2019 Novel Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) pandemic has all of asking one thing: "When can we get back to enjoying sports?"

While the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for Emerging Infectious Diseases has already released the latest resolution which lists all of the non-contact sports that can be held under community quarantine, it's still far from what sports fans wanted. And no, taekwondo isn't allowed yet.

Fortunately, the Philippine Taekwondo Association (PTA) got you covered as the PTA will be holding its first-ever online championship called, 2020 SMART/MVP Sports Foundation National Online Taekwondo Poomsae Championships which is slated to take place on May 29 to 31, 2020. The said online competition is patterned upon the First Online Poomsae Championships that was organized by Daedo International under the supervision of the World Taekwondo Federation last May 5 to 10 from which the Philippines took home three gold medals. That online competition was joined in by 1,200 participants.

For PTA's first online competition, there will be 50 categories, and individuals aged 5 to 60 years-old can join. Children, cadets, juniors, seniors, and even masters of taekwondo are allowed to join the competition. Interested participants must submit a video of their Poomsae performance and upload it via YouTube. The chosen judges will then be able to view the videos remotely and score them accordingly. The PTA will then announce the schedule of the evaluation as well as the judging of each of the categories.
