The Philippine SuperLiga (PSL) has postponed all its scheduled games starting from March 14 until April 12, the PSL said in an announcement on Friday, following the coronavirus situation in the country.
According to the statement, PSL matches may resume seven to 10 days after April 12 to give time to the teams to regroup and prepare for the games.
"Matchers may resume seven to 10 days after April 12, 2020, this is to give time to all the teams to re-group and prepare for their games.
The postponement of the games may change the match pairings and competition format to ensure that the league will finish on or before June 23.
"Considering the technical impact of the 30-day period, match pairings and competition format may be changed or modified to ensure that the Grand Prix Conference will be finished on or before June 23, 2020," the statement read.
"It is hope of the PSL Board that through our collective effort and support to the Government's call for 'stricter implementation of preventive measures to slow-down and put a halt to the further spread of COVID-19' will put us all and our loved ones out of harm's way," it added.
It can be recalled that other leagues such as PBA, MPBL, NCAA and UAAP have also suspended their activities indefinitely due to the coronavirus scare.
