The Philippine Superliga (PSL) Grand Prix 2020 will be moved to a later date after its organizers decided to reset its staging amidst the COVID-19 outbreak.
The announcement was made on PSL official website on Monday, March 23.
“After careful evaluation of the current COVID-19 situation and in consultation with the eight Team Owners, considering the uncertainty of the duration of the community quarantine imposed by the National Government, the 2020 Grand Prix Conference will be reset to a later date,“ the announcement read.
The PSL also urged team owners to encourage both their local players and imports to go home and be with their families.
“Teams are hereby advised to encourage their local players and overseas player to go home and be with their loved ones as health and safety are the top priorities during these trying times,” it said.
“If and when the ‘lockdown’ has been lifted and sporting events warrant its staging, PSL will immediately organize a special team-owners meeting to plan next step moving forward,” it added.
