On Sunday, 155 national federations approved the Federation Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB)'s recognizing the Philippine National Volleyball Federation Inc. (PNVFI) as a member of the governing body.

On Tuesday's Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) Online Forum, PNVFI laid down a 10-point strategy for Philippine volleyball.

The federation's number one plan: Make volleyball the top sports entertainment in the Philippines

"You know that basketball is currently the number one and boxing is second," PNVFI President Tats Suzara said during the online forum.

In line with this plan, Suzara also revealed a plan to have a federation-owned national league. "This national league is the same in Thailand. No PSL (Philippine SuperLiga). No PVL (Premier Volleyball League). No UAAP (University Athletic Association of the Philippines). There are the top teams in the country including at least one Visayas team and one Mindanao team," Suzara added.

PNVFI replaced the Larong Volleyball ng Pilipinas Inc (LVPI) as the federation that is representing the Philippines in the world of volleyball.
