Thanks to Pinoyliga, Kidzshots Life and Basketball got a huge boost in their build-up to their cage wars ahead as they got a tune-up series with one of ASEAN's vaunted high school squads.
Last July 27, Kidzshots had the game of their lives when they took on Thailand's Traill International School in their U18 and the U15 games at the Gatorade Hoops Center, with the visitors sweeping the series by winning both of games.
For the Pinoy Hoop Junkie, Traill was one of the international teams that competed in the 2016 NBTC Nationals held at the Mall of Asia Arena, and produced immense amount of talent.
To name a few, they once had Letran's Fran Yu and NU's Enzo Joson on their ranks, as most of the squad had Pinoys on their roster.
How did that happened? It was simply the case of the Bedan brotherhood, with Mendiola connections all over the place.
Kidzshots' head coach was Shintaro Dela Cruz, a regular fixture in the Pinoyliga tournaments where he was a teammate of guess who? Pinoyliga president and CEO Benny Benitez.
Traill, on the other hand, had the former San Beda assistant coach Troy Umali on the sidelines, where he also brought in former Red Cubs like Kurt Calaguio to Bangkok.
For the record, Traill won their U18 tiff with an 83-76 decision, while their U15 counterparts scraped a 75-69 win.
And with that, Pinoyliga thanks both Traill and Kidzshots for a pair of well-played games, as we hope to see them more in the future.
