The Celtics led as much as 17 points. Jimmy Butler was nowhere near his dominant self offensively. This was a winnable game for the third-seeded team in the Eastern Conference and yet, it was the fifth-seeded Miami Heat that came out with a 106-101 Game Two victory to go up 2-0 in the National Basketball Association (NBA) Eastern Conference Finals.

Goran Dragic scored the dagger trey with 1:42 left to give the Heat a five-point cushion and added another 24-footer with under a minute to play. Dragic finished with 25 points to lead all scorers. Bam Adebayo added 21 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Duncan Robinson went six for 12 from the three-point line for 18 points while Butler came away with 14 points, four assists, and four steals- including the one with 1:28 to go from which Jae Crowder scored on the other end. Crowder finished with 12 points while Tyler Herro had 11 points and nine rebounds off the bench. The Heat used a big third quarter to turn this game around as they outscored Boston, 37-17 in that quarter alone.

Kemba Walker led Boston with 23 points while Jayson Tatum added 21 points. Walker and Tatum combined for 10 of the Celtics' 20 turnovers. Jaylen Brown also scored 21 points. Marcus Smart had 14 points for the Celtics who shot 35% from the three-point line and 79% from the free-throw line. They shot 50% from the field overall but couldn't hit when it mattered the most.
