Game Three saw the West-leading Los Angeles Lakers almost stealing a game from Denver. This time around, LeBron James and company made sure that they got the important win.
Anthony Davis scored 34 points to lead the Lakers to a 114-108 victory over the Denver Nuggets in Game Four of the National Basketball Association (NBA) Western Conference Finals. The Lakers are now up 3-1 in the series and have a chance to book a return trip to the NBA Finals with a win in Game Five on Sunday (Manila time). Davis finished with five rebounds, three assists, three steals, and shot 13 for 14 from the free-throw line. LeBron James had 26 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists while going 11 got 14 from the free-throw line. Kentavious Cardwell-Pope had 13 points while Dwight Howard had a rare start and finished with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Rajon Rondo and Kyle Kuzma added 11 and 10 points respectively off the bench. The Lakers won the battle in the rebounds (41-33), particularly in the offensive end when they outrebounded the Nuggets, 12-6. Dwight Howard had the same number of offensive as of the entire Denver team.
Jamal Murray had 32 points but couldn't get the Nuggets over the hump. He missed all of his attempts from long distance. Jerami Grant added 17 points while Nikola Jokic had 16 points but struggled with foul trouble. While Denver managed to shoot 50% from the field and 35% from the three-point line, the Lakers just attempted (35) and made more free throws (28) while the Nuggets only went 20 for 23 from the line.
