Pinoyliga Daily NBA Recap: Adebayo, Heat Eliminate Boston in Game Six

Almost everyone wants to see another Lakers-Celtics slugfest in the NBA Finals. Unfortunately, the Miami Heat had other plans.

The Miami Heat have booked their return trip to the National Basketball Association (NBA) Finals for the first time since 2014 after beating the Boston Celtics, 125-113 in Game Six of the Eastern Conference Finals. Bam Adebayo led the Heat with 32 points, 14 rebounds, five assists, and shot 10 for 11 from the free-throw line. Jimmy Butler added 22 points and eight assists. Tyler Herro scored 19 points off the bench while Andre Iguodala made all of his five attempts from the field to finish with 15 points. Duncan Robinson and Goran Dragic scored 15 and 13 points respectively. Miami outscored the Celtics, 37-27 in the fourth quarter that enabled the Heat to finish the job. The Heat shot 56% from the field and 48% from the three-point line. 

Jaylen Brown had 27 points to lead Boston who led as much as six points in the second half only to falter in the fourth quarter. Jayson Tatum shot nine for 26 from the field and finished with 24 points. Kemba Walker and Marcus Smart shot a combined seven for 23 from the three-point line and finished with 20 points apiece. Gordon Hayward added 12 points off the bench for Boston who shot 15 for 46 from three. 

The Heat will now face the Los Angeles Lakers led by LeBron James who was with Miami when they last went to the NBA Finals.
