"It's not going to be easy for us players but we're going to do it for the Filipino people" this is what Nico Elorde said about the potential restart of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) season inside a bubble that will be set up in Clark.
"Off the Record" with Migs Bustos aired its seventh episode on Friday and the topic couldn't be more well-timed as the discussion revolved on how the players, especially the young guns are preparing for the all-Filipino conference bubble in Clark. Joining Migs Bustos were two young point guards in the PBA in Nico Elorde of the NorthPort Batang Pier, and Diego Dario of the Blackwater Elite. Both players expressed their "excitement" now that the league is set to return to action although Nico Elorde admitting "For me, I have mixed emotions as my wife has just given birth so I'm still in adjusting stage" He later added "I don't want to leave them behind but at the same, it's time to return because basketball has been out for a long time"
The PBA playing inside a bubble is a first for everyone and for the former University of the Philippines Fighting Maroon in Dario, the first adjustment any squad will need to look is the concept of playing as a team. He pointed that "Team concept (is something that we'll need to adjust) because it's some that we haven't worked on during the small group training because only four players are allowed (per session)." He then reiterated "Being fit is the most important" Elorde, a former Ateneo Blue Eagle, chimed "All of the players are doing this for the first time. You don't know what to expect. It's going to be an adjusting stage when we arrive inside the bubble"
Ultimately, Nico Elorde added, "Who will be able to adapt (inside the bubble) will have the 'advantage'"
