PLDT Fibr Power Hitter Maeva Orle’s 50-point explosion was not enough to survive in a come-from-behind 25-18, 25-21, 22-25, 26-28, 12-15 against the Chery Tiggo in the 2020 Philippine Superliga (PSL) Grand Prix that was held behind closed doors yesterday at the FilOil Flying V Center in San Juan.
Fans were not allowed to enter the area as a precautionary measure to the outbreak of the deadly novel coronavirus.
Orle came hot early, scoring 24 points in the first two sets as the Power Hitters zoomed to a 2-0 lead against the Chery Tiggo. The French reinforcement led the Hitters with 47 attacks and three aces for game-high 50 points, the second highest scoring output in a single game.
But the Bokan-led crossovers won the next two frames, where Tatjana Bokan garnered 35 points on 30 attacks and five aces, giving the Cherry Tiggo its second victory. Elaine Kasilag chipped in 11 points while Rachel Austero added 10 markers.
The Power Hitters second best scorer was Aiko Urdas who had seven points.
Chery Tiggo earned its second win in three outings while the Power Hitters suffered their third straight loss in the PSL.
