Third time's finally the charm for Rice Ka Pa after finally barging into the W column with 93-75 rout of Misfits, despite only fielding six players in the entire game.
Five of them got into double-digit scoring, with Nico Gallarin nearly flirting with a quadruple-double after filling his line for RKP with 20 points, 7 assists, 7 steals and 6 rebounds for a dominating PER of 31.59. Big man Aaron Jamilano added a double double of 19 points and 11 rebounds to help the point-guard
Gallarin's pesky hands alone have outhustled the Misfits all by himself, with Rice Ka Pa stole the ball 24 times as a team.
The 18-point loss wiped out Jerry Antonio's monster double-double of 34 points and 21 rebounds as the Misfits fell to 0-4.
On the penultimate game of the day, Jaybren Motol went supernova with a huge game to carry MNL Kingpin to a high-scoring 110-102 win over fellow contender Suave-Casa Empanada, their third in as many games.
Motol fired a triple-double of 31 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists to lead the now 3-0 MNL Kingpin, tallying a 41.27 PER in 28 minutes of basketball time.
Backing up #13 were Mark Reyes and Allen Zabala who combined for 48 points on a 20/35 shooting from the field.
The Kingpins won despite losing the rebounding battle by nine boards and were even slapped a pair of unsportsmanlike fouls to Reyes and Rodolfo Garcia, implying that the physical nature between two loaded sides.
In the nightcap, Marte Gil showed the game that made him closer to the PBA by firing in 39 points to lead the six-strong Young Once in an 88-86 squeaker over Kings Cup which puts them level with MNL Kingpin at 3-0.
Playing the entire forty minutes, Gil shot 45.45% from the field, with the former St. Clare Saint added sevens on rebounds, assists and steals on a quadruple-level alert en route to a 38.1 PER.
Jed Sicat provided relief by pitching in 34 points, with Jeff Tonido came just one assist shy of a double-double after hauling down 18 rebounds to stun the much deeper Kings Cup, who fielded in 12 players in the contest.
Gerald Bala had 17 points for the now 2-2 Kings Cup.
