An excellent shooting display became the biggest headline in the fifth week of the One Love Basketball League-R3born Performance Cup in the last Saturday of October at the FCL Center in Quezon City, with Young Once, Suave Casa Empanada and Mad Cafe post huge wins.

The said headline was John Rosagas, who torched the nets for a tournament record as the sweet-shooter take Young Once to a 113-71 rout of Misfits to move into a share of the Bracket A lead with fellow unbeaten MNL Kingpin at 2-0.

With the flaming hands, Rosagas hit 15/29 from beyond the arc (17/32 for the whole game) as he went supernova in the second half when he hit for 30 (18 in the fourth) to add to his 19 first-half points to finish with 49, hitting a single-game record PER of 48.74, taking 63 statistical points in the process.

Jed Sicat followed up Rosagas' shooting with a huge line filler when he flirted with a quadruple-double, wrapping up the game with 21 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 7 steals for Young Once.

The still-winless Misfits (0-3) leaned on the double-double of Jerry Antonio who logged in 37 points and 18 rebounds.

In the other Bracket A game, Suave-Casa Empanada also got a hot game from Jameson Hirro for a 90-84 win over King's Cup in a tight battle between two foodies.

Held to just two points in the opening canto, Hirro went off and fired double-digit quarters to finish with 38 points, including 16 in the final quarter as he nearly got a triple-double, coming off just a dime and two boards short of it.

With that heroics, Hirro notched a PER of 30.12 (73 SPs) as he only rested for 77 seconds in a closely-fought battle.

Backstopping him was Hayley John Ajero who had 17 points, with Emman Sy adding 14 and  Tyrone Sy put up a double-double of 10 points and 13 rebounds for the now 2-1 Casa Empanada.

Gerald Bala's 17 points were put in vain as they dropped their first game of the tournament after winning their first two.

In the lone Bracket B Game, Rolando Dator also got his hands on fire as he lead Mad Cafe to a 97-51 beatdown of EMC Prado Auto to cap off the tripleheaders.

Idle for the next three weeks after being at the wrong end of the mauling by Monster Energy Drink, Dator paced all scorers with 31 points, including 8/14 from downtown to give them their first win in the tournament.

What makes it more special was its efficiency, as Dator did it in just 19 minutes and 27 second of playing time with 14 of it came in the final frame, hiking his PER to 31.36, tallying 49.5 statistical points in the process.

For the now 0-2 EMC Prado Auto, John Christian Jocson lead them with 24 points.
