Prior to the 2019 Novel Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) pandemic, Indianapolis was set to host the 2021 National Basketball Association (NBA) All-Star Game before the league scrapped the plan. Instead, Indianapolis will host the event in 2024.

And with the pandemic still not slowing down, there are worries that there might not be even an All-Star Game this year.

The good news is: the NBA and the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) agreed on holding this year's All-Star weekend festivities in Atlanta which will be highlighted by the All-Star Game on March 7, 2021.

According to the reports by Adrian Wojnarowski on Tuesday, the NBA will enforce the same health and safety protocols it has been enforcing since the beginning of the 2020-2021 season. In the past editions of the mid-season festivities, attendance of NBA players was a must but since we're living in a time where a pandemic is still endangering lives left and right, there are negotiations being done to allow players the option of not to fly to Atlanta- the same option some NBA players chose prior to the start of the Orlando bubble last year.

The fan voting for the All-Star Game started last January 28 and it will run until February 16. Fan ballots will account for 50% of the vote while votes from media and players will account for 25% each.
