The MVP Sports Foundation (MVPSF) has played a pivotal role behind the scenes in the Philippine sports world since 2011.

The foundation, a brainchild of its Chairman Manuel V. Pangilinan, aims to be the driving force in the development of world class Filipino sports champions as well as the leading proponent of a culture of winning and positive youth development through sports.

MVPSF supports in funding and sharing its expertise with multiple national sports associations such as the Association of Boxing Alliances in the Philippines, Gymnastics Association of the Philippines, Philippine Rowing Association, Samahang Weightlifting ng Pilipinas, Skateboarding and Roller Sports Association of the Philippines, Philippine Rugby Football Union, Philippine Football Federation, Philippine Taekwondo Association, Integrated Cycling Federation of the Philippines, Philippine Badminton Association, Philippine Obstacle Sports Federation, Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas, National Golf Association of the Philippines, and Samahang Kickboxing ng Pilipinas.

Through this, the foundation has been able to help mold and bring success to some of the country’s best athletes such as Hidilyn Diaz (Weightlifting), Eumir Marcial (Boxing), Carlos Yulo (Gymnastics), and Margielyn Didal (Skateboarding), including support their quest to bring the country its first ever Olympic gold medal.

Now, MVPSF aims to be at the forefront as a provider of news and insights about the sports and athletes it has helped in the past and supports in the present.

“We want to celebrate past accomplishments and provide an avenue for everyone to appreciate our national sports heroes. There is still so much to know about our athletes - their trials, struggles and successes. We are very excited to share their stories to provide hope and inspiration. We want the nation to join MVPSF in cheering for them, not only during the competition, but through every step of their journey,” said MVPSF Executive Director Ryan Gregorio.

Through this effort, MVPSF wants the Filipino people to get to know their national athletes, look back at the country’s past sporting accolades, and get excited for what the future holds for Philippine sports.

While the future of sports is uncertain, MVPSF’s commitment to support the Filipino athlete remains staunch and its belief in sports as an important tool for nation-building holds firm.
