Meralco spoils Bowles' PBA return

Meralco claimed its second win after defeating Rain or Shine, 91-84, last May 31 in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Gani Lawal had 19 points and 12 rebounds as the Bolts’ locals stepped up in the game. Anjo Caram had 17 points and 6 rebounds, and Chris Newsome and Ranidel De Ocampo had 16 and 12 points respectively.

“My hat goes off to my local players for stepping up,” said Meralco coach Norman Black.

Denzel Bowles had 31 points and 13 rebounds for Rain or Shine but to no avail as the PBA balik-import was unable to get the support he needs to pull off the victory.
