Sky Bautista had defined dancing as a “beautiful art that taps all learners’ ability to move, develop, and most especially, express.”

Aside from that, she had lead dance groups while at school, became the team captain in the dance group of her university, all the while competing in cheerleading competitions in Southeast Asia.

While being in her first job as a kindergarten teacher, she also took the role of cheerleading coach, and dancer for TV shows, concerts which featured local celebrities.

Today, she has thousands and hundreds of followers and subscribers on Instagram and YouTube—but who is Sky Bautista?

For one, she’s a dance instructor who’s training Keona and Ian, children of retired PBA player Jimmy Alapag, and Scarlet Snow, daughter of dermatologist Vicki Belo, the art of dancing.

Bautista shared a video in her Youtube channel (Teacher Sky) and Instagram (sky_bautista), in which her illustrious students dance to the tune of the hit song ‘How You Like That’ by BLACKPINK. Currently, the video has earned more than 1,000 views.

Second, Bautista founded Sky Dance Avenue in Hong Kong in 2015.  It’s a dance arts program aimed for children and teenagers, and as she explained in an online report, molds the creativity of individuals. This is done through various dance genres, and classes with a skill-oriented approach.

Currently, the dance program has reached the Philippines, which aims to develop “artistic development of our students.”

Her students—just like Keona, Ian, and Scarlet Snow—are her inspiration and motivators. “Our students are more than an inspiration and would always push me to share my knowledge for this craft,” she said in an online report.

“They are my constant reminder to always value patience, perseverance and commitment in this profession.”

Bautista, meanwhile, shared her mentioned definition of the craft in a report by the University of Santo Tomas (UST); the university where Bautista finished a degree in pre-school education in 2010.

The training she received in the dance groups in college are said to have helped her with being a performer for Disney, which was her career before founding Sky Dance Avenue.

Sky Dance Avenue is currently conducting online classes on various dance genres such as jazz, musical dance, and hip hop.
