QUEZON CITY -- PNP-Naredo opened the 2019 Masters Invitational Basketball Tournament with a 97-74 rout of E-Hotel Monday evening at the PNP Gym at Camp Crame.
Parading their most loaded lineup in the 55 and above division, PNP were simply too much for E-Hotel to handle, even though PBA Legend Alvin Teng and Senator Bong Go were not in uniform for their opener.
Current SMB head coach Leo Austria lead PNP Naredo with a near triple-double, chipping in 19 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists, while getting 56 statistical points on a PER of 22.73.
A third quarter storm blew the game wide open for PNP, limiting their victims to just 10 points to hike their lead to 22 for a convincing win.
Henry Ogaco had 22 points in a losing effort for E-Hotel.
