QUEZON CITY -- Glen Capacio turned back the clock as PNP-Naredo sweep its way to the 55-and-above division finals of the 2019 Masters Invitational Basketball Tournament Wednesday evening in Camp Crame.
The former Purefoods gunner lit up the PNP Gym, as he only missed two shots en route to a team-high 35 points on almost 86% from the field for PNP-Naredo, who won their third straight game and advance to the championship game on Friday.
With Leo Austria absent due to his coaching duties with PBA powerhouse San Miguel, he was filled in nicely by Sonny Phillipps who had 28, with Nonoy Naredo and Alvin Teng pitched in for 24 and 23 respectively.
Alfonso Kaw's 43 points were not enough for the Malaysian visitors, as they slipped to 1-2 and were in danger of being relegated to the bronze-medal game.
The scores:
PNP-Naredo 140 -- Capacio 35, Phillipps 28, Naredo 24, Teng 23, Aquino 14, Feliciano 6, Retreta 6, Bautista 4
Ujana Kingfisher 109 -- Kaw 43, LA Leong 17, Tan 12, Suan 12, Wahyudi 10, Lim SP 7, O Lim 6, Min 2, Cruz 0, Liao 0, Teng 0
