Magnolia grabs upper hand in PBA Philippine Cup semis against Rain or Shine with Game 5 win

Magnolia beat Rain or Shine, 82-74, last April 24 to grab a 3-2 series lead in the semifinals of the PBA Philippine Cup at the Cuneta Astrodome.

Mark Barroca had 14 points and 7 rebounds as he led Magnolia’s attack with the Hotshots winning three straight games and recovering from an 0-2 deficit in the best-of-seven semifinal series. Jio Jalalon also had 14 points as Magnolia finished strong in the fourth outscoring Rain or Shine, 24-17.

The Magnolia bigs also played splendidly with Rafi Reavis finishing with 9 points and 12 rebounds, and Rodney Brondial adding 9 points and 7 rebounds.

Magnolia can finish off Rain or Shine in Game 6 slated on Friday at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City.
