#LGRHoops: Zark’s destroy previously unbeaten Rizaleno to sweep Neophyte crown

Zark’s Burgers gave Rizaleno Studio 26 a bitter dose of their own medicine as they claimed the Neophyte division title with a 90-73 beatdown last June 23 at the FilOil FlyingV Centre.

In a battle between two unbeaten sides whose routs dominated their wins, the Jawbreakers virtually ended the game in just four minutes and sixteen seconds, opening it with a crippling 17-0 run to win their eighth and final game to clinch the title.

Zark’s shot an insane 35/55 from the field, including more than 70% from inside the arc, while getting the biggest lead at 27, 49-22 in the second quarter.

Finals MVP Warren Dy backstopped Dunray Geraldo’s 14 with 12 points, 8 rebounds and one block in just nine minutes of action for coach Carmelo Navarro, who rarely toiled their way for their first title in LGR Hoops.
