Letran keeps the perfect record alive, rolls past San Sebastian

Colegio de San Juan de Letran stayed unbeaten in the NCAA Season 102 Men’s Basketball Tournament, pulling away from San Sebastian College-Recoletos for a 99-62 victory on Friday at the Playtime FilOil Centre in San Juan.


The Knights set the tone early with a 24-15 lead after the opening quarter before breaking the game open in the second. Letran added 25 points in the period while keeping the Stags to just 12, taking a 49-27 lead into halftime.


San Sebastian could not find its way back into the contest after the break, as Letran continued to create separation and eventually stretched its advantage to 39 points in the fourth quarter.


Denzil Sison-Walker finished with 25 points, three rebounds, two blocks, one assist, and one steal for the Knights. Chad Gammad added 19 points, while Titing Manalili contributed 14 points, nine assists, and five steals.


Khit Barroga supplied 15 points for the Stags, with Matt Acosta adding 10.


Letran moves to 2-0 in Season 102, while San Sebastian falls to 0-2. The Knights next meet Arellano on September 21, while the Stags face Perpetual on September 22.
