Obviously, both sides did that. Obviously, this is a different situation, but it felt like a playoff game” James on Lakers’ first playoff game at Staples Center since 2013.
“You know, we want to continue to make them proud and you know that’s why I came here for, to be able to play a playoff game in front of the Laker faithful.” He added.
“Give him the ball early, often and always. It’s that simple. He responds to games like game one. He’s not a guy that talks about he’s about it. He goes out and do it. So, give him the ball, early and often.”
Dennis Schröder and Andre Drummond stepped up in Game 2 to help their superstar duo LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
“Dennis (Schröder) was an attack mode from the very beginning. He lived in the paint and when they sagged off on me, he hit his shots. From the perimeter as well, both from the three and from the mid range, but he just stayed in attack mode and I thought (Andre Drummond) was amazing in 10 minutes. He had both on the offensive rebounding from the beginning of the game. You know to finding his ways offensively, for dump downs, (He) got the ball in the post a couple of times, made some great moves.” LeBron’s statement on Schröder and Drummond’s performance.
LeBron James is averaging 20.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 9.5 assists with 52% shooting from the field in his first two games of the 2021 NBA postseason.
