The PLDT Home Fibr Power Hitters and the Cignal HD Lady Spikers are set to join the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) that is set to open its first conference as a professional league on April 10, 2021, inside the Inspire Sports Academy bubble in Laguna. With this development, the Philippine SuperLiga (PSL) only has the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers, Cherry Tiggo Crossovers, and the Sta. Lucia Lady Realtors as the remaining teams in the amateur league as three other teams have taken a leave of absence due to the ongoing 2019 Novel Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
But for PSL Chairman Philip Juico, the show will continue.
"PSL will continue," Juico stressed.
He added, "We have plans but they are all under wraps and will announce them when they are done,"
PSL is set to open the 2021 season with the PSL Invitational Beach Volleyball Challenge Cup on February 27 inside a bubble in Subic. This tournament was supposed to be played last November but a pair of typhoons that hit Luzon forced the league to reschedule. "After this was postponed last November due to weather concerns, we can now begin,” Juico said.
As for the indoor volleyball competitions, Juico explained that the league has started the necessary preparations and that, teams from other leagues are also considering joining the league.
