JRU appoints Louie Gonzalez as head coach

The Jose Rizal University Heavy Bombers have a new seniors basketball coach in Louie Gonzalez.

The university announced the appointment of Gonzalez on April 20, but  formally took the position last April 1.

Gonzalez has rich experience in basketball, having coached in the premier collegiate leagues in the UAAP and the NCAA. He is also involved in grassroots basketball.

JRU also said Gonzalez will have Eddie Laure, Eric Dela Cuesta, Nixon Ramos, and Vic Lazaro, the head coach of the juniors basketball team, as assistant coaches in the seniors team.

Glen Capacio will also be part of the staff as active consultant, the school said.

JRU also said the Heavy Bombers will be playing in the Filoil Flying V Preseason Cup in May as part of their preparations for NCAA Season 95.
