The final 12 for the Gilas Pilipinas Youth for the FIBA Under-19 Basketball World Cup has been bared a few days before they begin action on Sunday morning in Heraklion, Greece.
Kai Sotto (7-foot-1) and AJ Edu (6-foot-11), as expected, lead the line-up seen as one of the tallest in the youth program in years. Also part of the frontline are Geo Chiu (6-foot-8) and Carl Tamayo (6-foot-7).
Also part of the 12-man roster are Gerry Abadiano, Miguel Oczon, Dalph Panopio, Terrence Fortea, Xyrus Torres, Dave Ildefonso, James Spencer, and Rhayyan Amsali.
The Gilas Pilipinas Youth are about to compete in the FIBA Under-19 Basketball World Cup where they are bracketed with Greece, Argentina, and Russia in Group C.
The Philippine squad will take on Greece to open up hostilities on Sunday, 1:30 a.m. Manila time, to be followed by the match against Argentina on Monday 1:30 a.m. Manila time.
Gilas Youth will finish off its preliminary round with a battle against Russia on Wednesday, 1:30 a.m. Manila time before they head into the round of 16.
