Gilas Pilipinas Women's 3x3 sweeps qualifiers

Gilas Pilipinas Women’s 3x3 completed a sweep of the qualifiers after winning over Vanuatu, 22-5, last May 23 in the FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup 2019 in Changsha, China.

The victory paved the way for Gilas to move into the pool rounds to extend their campaign in the competition.

The team of Jack Animam, Afril Bernardino, Janine Pontejos, and Claire Castro dominated Vanuatu to finish the qualifiers with a 3-0 record in Group A.

The Philippines will now play in the pool phase where they are bracketed with Japan and Sri Lanka in Pool C. The women's team will face Japan first on May 24 before taking on Sri Lanka in the next outing on the same day.
