Gilas Pilipinas settled for an 85-85 draw over Mighty Sports in a tune-up game last Monday at the Meralco Gym.
According to a game account by various media outlets, Gilas was able to tie the game following back-to-back triples by Marcio Lassiter and CJ Perez to force the draw.
Gilas Pilipinas even trailed by 23-13 in the first quarter, but kept the game close resulting to the Nationals leading 60-59 entering the fourth, according to a game account by Spin.ph.
Gilas head coach Yeng Guiao was satisfied with the result after being pitted against imports such as Renaldo Balkman, Eugene Phelps, and Hamady N’Diaye.
“The guys really showed a good effort and I'm happy with the result. This is a really good quality team. Encouraging naman yung resulta,” Guiao said as quoted by Spin.ph.
