Gilas Pilipinas will be playing Korea and Southeast Asia counterparts Thailand and Indonesia in the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup qualifiers that will begin on November.
Gilas is part of Group A together with Korea, Thailand, and Indonesia following a draw ceremony in Bengaluru, India as 24 teams grouped into six will vie for 16 spots in the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup qualifiers.
The FIBA Asia Cup qualifiers will hold three window periods in November 2019, February 2020, and November 2020 where teams will play home-and-away matches within their group.
The top two teams in the six groups will clinch a spot in the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup. The six third-placers in each group will battle for five more places in the main tournament via another qualification tournament to be held February 2021.
